Who is the Villain?

IMAGINE MY SHOCK AND DISMAY WHEN MY ILLUSTRIOUS EMPLOYER DISCHARGED ME... NOW, IMAGINE MY HORROR ON CHRISTMAS EVE WHEN THE UNEMPLOYMENT DEPARTMENT SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT MY CLAIM WAS DENIED BECAUSE I WAS "DISCHARGED FROM YOUR LAST JOB WITH CUSTOM DESIGN AND DESTRUCT (YES, THEY ACTUALLY MADE THIS BRILLIANT TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR) BECAUSE YOU KNOWINGLY ENTERED FALSE INFORMATION ON A TIME CARD". I WAS DISCHARGED FOR MISCONDUCT! DON'T YOU THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE THE BALLS TO TELL ME THEY SUSPECTED MY MISCONDUCT UPON FIRING?

WOW AND DOUBLE WOW. SO, WHAT KIND OF RETRIBUTION SHOULD THERE BE? IS THIS SLANDER? I THINK SO!!!!!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK I SHOULD DO.... IS THIS FOR REAL? HAVE I BEEN PUNKED? WILL THE REAL VILLAIN PLEASE STAND UP?????

I would think that they would have to give the reason why they let you go when they let you go. Doesn't seem legal after the fact to try and stop your unemployment benefits. Check out California Labor Laws. Just google them. You may have a case.
Good luck

OK, Here's what I know. First, they should have let you know why you were being let go in the first place. That alone gives you enough for an appeal. That is second. You can appeal this decision. Most of the employers will not show up for the appeal, and if they don't, you will likely win the appeal. When you go to the appeal, you can be shocked, you can be offended, but you must reamain calm and level headed. They should be required to have evidence of the falsification of the timecard. Do you know what date they are talking about? If possible, have some type of documentation to show that you worked the hours. Look back in your calendar, and figure out what you were doing that day. What clients or staff did you talk to? Was anyone around that can vouch for you? It may be difficult to get anyone to say that you were there, cause they may be afraid to lose their own jobs. Anyway, call me and let me know more of what details you do have. I was the employer in this situation a couple times, so I may be able to help you. Love Ya!
